The Alex Film Society screens “Beetlejuice,” the 1988 comedy/horror film about a dead couple haunting their former home, starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $16 general admission, $12 for seniors, $11 for Society members.
Glendale Adventist Medical Center Cancer Care Guild presents Laugh 4 a Cause, featuring comedian Maz Jobrani and friends in a fundraiser for the Center at 5 p.m. Tickets are $25 to $200.
The Orchestra premieres a new work by Swedish composer Albert Schnelzer, “A Freak in Burbank,” an homage to filmmaker Tim Burton. Thomas Dausgaard, Principal Conductor of the Swedish Chamber Orchestra, Chief Conductor Designate of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and Principal Guest Conductor of the Seattle Symphony serves as guest conductor. The concert includes works by Sibelius and Beethoven, featuring Norwegian violinist Henning Kraggerud at 8 p.m. Tickets are $27 and up.
Orquesta Victoria, is now on a tour covering the Los Angeles area with their album El Mundo is the World. The 14-piece tango orchestra will display a wide-ranging repertoire going from the re-imagination of beloved tango classics to brand new tangos. The orchestra will be joined on stage by internationally renowned dancers Andrea Monti and Adrián Durso and famous singer Mariana Quinteros.
