Boston Court’s PLAY/ground annual festival of new plays closes with “Your Name Will Follow You Home” by Carlos Murillo, the story of a young, reclusive novelist who took the literary world by storm, but faces questions as to the authenticity of his work. It starts at 11 a.m. Admission is free.
The festival features “Mad Beat Hip and Gone” by Steven Dietz, an on-the-road comedy in an ode to the wanderlust of growing up starting at 11 a.m., “Hillary and Clinton” by Lucas Hnath, the story of an alternate Earth with a woman named Hillary running for president at 2:30 p.m. and “In A Word” by Lauren Yee, chronicling a young boy’s disappearance and his mother’s attempts make sense of it as it’s about to be declared a cold case, starting at 5 p.m. Admission is free.
The Theatre @ Boston Court hosts the PLAY/ground annual festival of new plays. It opens with “Mojada: A Medea in Los Angeles” by Luis Alfaro, who’s known for retelling Greek classics in a modern context. “Mojada” is a re-imagined version of Euripides’ “Medea,” now set in East Los Angeles. It starts at 8 p.m. Admission is free, but call or email firstname.lastname@example.org for reservations. The festival continues through Sunday.
