The Theatre @ Boston Court presents Samuel Beckett’s “Happy Days,” the story of Winnie, a woman buried up to her bosom in a mound of dirt with nothing to pass the time but the ragged contents of her bag, her nimble wit and her husband Willie in an existential allegory demonstrating the vitality of the human spirit in the face of a deteriorating world. It continues at 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays through Oct. 19, with an additional performance on Oct. 8. Tickets are $34.
Red Hen Press partners with Boston Court Performing Arts Center as Red Hen Press authors read from their works, including Adrianne Kalfopoulou, Associate Professor of Language and Literature at Hellenic American University in Athens, Greece and author of two poetry collections, "Wild Greens" and "Passion Maps." Elissa Washuta, has been the recipient of an Artist Trust GAP Award and other awards. "My Body Is a Book of Rules" is her first book. Robin Becker, Liberal Arts Research Professor of English and Women’s Studies at the Pennsylvania State University, is the author of seven poetry collections, including "Domain of Perfect Affection," "The Horse Fair" and "Giacometti’s Dog." Alicia Ostriker is a major American poet, critic and author of 12 volumes of poetry, most recently "The Book of Seventy (2009)."General admission is $10 PSA members, students & seniors $5.
