The National Association on Mental Illness presents a free workshop on loving someone who has mental illness at 10 a.m., with information on common mental health conditions and how to gain the communication skills to make your relationship more enjoyable. The Rediscovering Hope support group for those grieving the death of a loved one meets at 3 p.m. Thursdays in March. Walk-ins are welcome. Wednesday is the reservation deadline for the Senior Center’s St. Patrick’s Day tea and dance, scheduled for 2 to 4 p.m. March 15. The Great American Swing Band provides music. Cost is $2.
Kenneth Barkin, professor emeritus of history at UC Riverside hosts “U.S. Wars after 1945,” a free monthly discussion of post-World War II foreign policy from 3 to 5 p.m. Mondays. A related book is assigned for each month to be discussed at the following meeting.
