A free health fair offers blood pressure, glucose and hearing screenings and a medical safety plan from 9 to 11 a.m. Guests should bring a list of medications, doctors and emergency contacts to be included on a personal identification card at no cost. Friday movie matinees start at 1 p.m. Friday’s film is “The Umbrellas of Cherbourg” (1964).
A healthier living class by Kaiser Permanente discusses common health concerns such as fatigue, frustration, anxiety and depression, and guests learn to set weekly goals, reduce stress and receive support from others from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesdays through March 23. An LA Opera community educator discusses Puccini’s “Madame Butterfly” at 1 p.m. Guests are invited to re-imagine Pasadena’s monuments in a workshop series of embroidery and fiber arts projects designed for all skill levels, including beginners from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 29 and March 7. Guests learn the histories of various monuments and the human stories they communicate, then create a fiber arts piece honoring significant people, places and events in their own lives.
