Descanso Gardens’ annual Music on the Main summer jazz series, 1418 Descanso Drive, La Cañada Flintridge, features vocalist Sara Gazarek accompanied by pianist Josh Nelson starting at 6 p.m. The series continues Thursdays through Aug. 21. USC Pacific Asia Museum’s Fusion Fridays, 46 N. Los Robles Ave., Pasadena, features a guest deejay spinning tunes, a cash bar, food trucks, traditional Indian performances, a Tibetan folk dance and a lesson starting at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $15 general, free for members. BotCon 2014 features autograph sessions with “Transformers” voice actors and special guests, and opportunities to buy, sell or trade “Transformers” merchandise and all things “Transformers” from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Pasadena Convention Center, 300 E. The Sierra Madre Playhouse, 87 W. Sierra Madre Blvd., Sierra Madre, presents “Invitation to Murder,” an interactive musical murder mystery by Larry Johnson, with music by Cindy O’Conner. The whodunit is set in an 1871 London pub, as guests gather there for an important announcement and one of them is murdered. It starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20. The Los Angeles College of Music Summer Xperience Music Performance and Music Producer has programs for all ages features master classes, private lessons, student recitals, large ensembles and recording sessions taught by school faculty and top music industry members from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through June 27 at 300 S. Tuesday 06.24.14
The Pasadena Senior Center presents free concerts at 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Sept. 2 in Memorial Park, corner of Raymond Avenue and Holly Street, Pasadena. Guests can bring picnics or purchase barbecue at the on-site snack bar. Tuesday’s concert features the Tap Chicks performing lively dance numbers in clever costumes with vaudeville-style comedy. Pasadena charity Hillsides hosts a fundraiser with singer Lisa Donahey performing songs from her new CD “Lisa Donahey: Takes on Broadway” and Broadway standards at the Autry National Center’s Wells Fargo Theater, 4700 Western Heritage Way, Griffith Park.
