2,188 American military service members (0 more than last week) have been reported killed in Afghanistan since the war began in 2001, according to The Associated Press.

16 people have now died, including 1 more Czech soldier, as a result of a blast last Tuesday carried out by a suicide bomber in Afghanistan. The blast initially killed 4 Czech soldiers and severely injured 12 others.

10 people were killed in roadside bombings in Afghanistan on Sunday. The deadliest attack happened when a bomb struck a civilian car, killing 8. According to The Associated Press, a short time later another bomb struck a vehicle killing a civilian and a police officer.

88 pounds of Uranium was stolen from a lab in Iraq by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS). The material is not believed to be weaponized and ISIS does not have known missile delivery capability. The theft has increased fears that the group will use the material to attack Baghdad with a dirty bomb — a primitive radioactive bomb.
