American military service members (0 more than last week) have been reported killed in Afghanistan since the war began in 2001, according to The Associated Press.

people were killed in Afghanistan on Tuesday when a suicide bomber self-detonated outside of an airport. According to Reuters, the bomber was on a bicycle outside of the airport’s drug investigation building.

people were killed when Malaysian Airlines Flight 17 was shot down last Thursday over Russia. Officials from Russia and the Ukraine have blamed each other for the disaster. According to CNN, there are nearly 100 unidentifiable body fragments, limbs and torsos, among the wreckage.

people were killed on Saturday in Iraq by militants with the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), including a Christian monastery. According to Reuters, monks were reportedly forced to abandon all their possessions and leave the monastery with nothing except the clothes they were wearing.
