All Star Lanes hosts festival benefits

It’s hard to believe that it’s been three years since the Eagle Rock Bowling and Drinking Club held its inaugural session at All Star Lanes. It was then that Sunday nights at this funky little bowling alley became a party night for fans of some of LA’s up-and-coming indie bands.
This weekend, club organizers get a jump on the fun, with a party Friday at the club to raise funds for the Eagle Rock Music Festival on Oct. 4.
ERBDC members will be hosting a stage at the festival featuring three bands, and proceeds from Friday’s party will go toward paying for a sound engineer and tents.
“Our original intent was just to have a big free anniversary party and thank everyone who has helped us along the way,” says ERBDC co-founder Janine Christiano. “Hopefully, it can still be that and we can raise the money we need for the festival.”
Friday’s gathering features The Seasons, One Trick Pony and Guy Christiano (formerly of Service Group), as well as free pizza and karaoke.
The party runs from 8 to 9 p.m. at All Star Lanes, 4459 Eagle Rock Blvd., Eagle Rock. Call (323) 254-2579.
