Arsenio's in the House
Late-night host Arsenio Hall gives an early evening performance Sunday at the Ice House

After staging a successful comeback in September following a nearly 20-year absence from the nation’s late-night television screens, comic talk-show host Arsenio Hall is testing the live-performance waters again Sunday night with a show at the Ice House Comedy Club that also features sets by six surprise guest comics.
Hall, 57, brought “The Arsenio Hall Show” back to more than 100 TV stations nationwide — including KTLA Channel 5 in Los Angeles, where it airs at 11 p.m. weeknights — on Sept. 9 and experienced big ratings that illustrated just how eager his fans were to see him light up late-night TV again. While his ratings have dipped a bit since then, the show has drawn mostly positive reviews from critics, who noted that Hall stepped seamlessly back into his hosting role.
Perhaps the reason for his current success lies in the fact that he never fully retired. Hall had his own ABC sitcom, co-starred on the CBS series “Martial Law,” hosted a new generation of “Star Search” competitions and most famously took the title on NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice” in May 2012.
His magic should be in full effect Sunday when he aims to add even more buzz to his return with this special show. Be prepared to “Woof” your way through a fun evening.
Arsenio Hall and six special guests are set to perform beginning at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Ice House Comedy Club, 24 N. Mentor Ave., Pasadena. Tickets are $20. Call (626) 577-1894 or visit icehousecomedy.com.
