AIDS Service Center hosts annual Big Night Out fundraiser Saturday

The AIDS Service Center (ASC) will hold its 16th annual Big Night Out fundraiser from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at a Tudor estate in Pasadena. The address will only be provided with the purchase of tickets to the event.
Big Night Out has become one of the region’s most enthusiastically anticipated events and is the ASC’s premier fundraiser.
During Big Night Out, guests will gather at the home for a gala reception and auction, which will end at 7 p.m. From there, people will head out to 20 exclusive dinner parties in some of Los Angeles County’s “most distinguished and historic settings,” according to a press release issued by ASC. All proceeds will benefit the AIDS Service Center.
“It’s our biggest annual fundraiser,” said ASC Executive Director Anthony Guthmiller. “It helps us to fund the much-needed HIV-related services we provide to people throughout Los Angeles County.”
Last year, ASC raised about $200,000 at parties held at homes in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles and the Hollywood Hills.
The nonprofit put that money to good use by providing services countywide to more than 1,200 clients and their families with the help of a staff of 31 people and a volunteer base of more than 400 people. ASC also provides housing services, transportation, comprehensive case management, mental health services and advocacy.
In addition, the organization reaches some 4,000 community members annually with HIV prevention and education services. ASC also offers free and anonymous HIV testing.
Tickets for the gala reception and the dinner party are $250. Tickets for the reception are $125. To purchase tickets, call Gabriel Solorio at (626) 441-8495. For more information, visit aidsservicecenter.org.
