The Jangle Brothers feature folk-rock icons
By John Sollenberger 06/26/2014
Friday night offers an opportunity to catch three local folk-rock stalwarts when the Jangle Brothers play a set at Coffee Gallery Backstage.
This talented trio consists of singer/guitarists John York, Billy Darnell and bassist Chad Watson. All three boast high-flying music credits.
York has performed with legendary ’60s folk-rockers the Byrds, the Mamas and the Papas, Dr. John, Johnny Rivers, the Sir Douglas Quintet, Richard Manuel and Rick Danko, among others. He currently tours with another folk veteran, Barry McGuire.
Darnell has played with stars including the Everly Brothers, Doug Kershaw and Roger McGuinn. Watson has played bass with revered acts including Janis Ian, Delaney Bramlett, Charlie Rich and Freddy Fender, and a host of other artists.
