‘Meet the Heroes’
Short videos and thank you cards of appreciation have been sent to 40 military veterans and their spouses in Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Valley who will be honored at a pre-Valentine’s Day event on Thursday, Feb. 13 in Pasadena.

The “Meet the Heroes” event is being sponsored by Stonefire Grill, which is catering the dinner that follows a 6 p.m. reception at Castle Catering, 50 E. Green St., Pasadena. Only 100 people will be allowed in. The $50 entry fee will be donated to the Wounded Warriors Project.

“Oftentimes, returning veterans struggle with the challenge to reintegrate into regular, daily family life,” Castle Catering owner Ron Hobbs said in a prepared statement.

“We hope that this community event will serve to show them our appreciation and let them know they are not forgotten,” said Hobbs.

“We are looking forward to working together to raise some much-needed funds for Wounded Warrior,” said Stonefire Grill spokesman Justin Lopez.

Award-winning Crowned Studio Salon on Sunday formally launched Gorgeous Blow & Beauty Bar, located in the salon’s loft space.

The service menu for Gorgeous will feature blowouts, updos, conditioning treatments and a full line of makeup services at competitive prices, said owner Andrea Auman. Auman said she is attempting to serve clients with unique needs who deserve more than a revolving-door style of services.

“What you’re really getting from Gorgeous Blow & Beauty Bar that differentiates us from other blow out bars is our level of expertise,” says Auman.

Gorgeous Blow & Beauty Bar will be open six days a week. Walk-ins are welcome.
