Rusnak/Arcadia Mercedes-Benz named Business of the Year
Victoria Rusnak, president and CEO of Rusnak Motor Group, will accept the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce’s Business of the Year Award today on behalf of Rusnak/Arcadia Mercedes-Benz at the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce 2014 Business Awards.
Rusnak/Arcadia Mercedes-Benz opened in 1991. The business, which employs 120 people, is in the process of building a $10 million showroom on Santa Anita Avenue, north of Huntington Drive.
Also scheduled to be honored at the annual awards ceremony, held at the chamber’s monthly networking breakfast at Santa Anita Golf Course, are: Foothill Credit Union’s Chris Andersson, Business Person of the Year; Bruce McCallum, who won the Chamber Service Award; and New Member of the Year Allen Tsay.

Stats auction offers Sam Maloof furniture and rare celebrity photos
On Friday night, Auction at Stats offers a collection of items ranging from museum-quality furniture by Sam Maloof to rare photographs by John Robert Rowlands of the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and Bob Marley.
Maloof’s furniture was honored in a featured exhibition at the Huntington Library called “The House that Sam Built.” He made rocking chairs for Presidents Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter, received the MacArthur Genius Grant award and his home and woodshop are a national landmark and museum located in Rancho Cucamonga.
In addition to Maloof’s furniture and Rowlands’ photos, abstract, traditional and portrait oil paintings by Palm Desert-based artist Max von Wening are up for grabs.

Pasadena Museum of History launches new Web site
The Pasadena Museum of History has launched its new Web site (www.pasadenahistory.org) which went live on July 9.
The redesigned site was created to provide a more user-friendly experience, with improved navigation and functionality. It offers a comprehensive view of the museum’s multifaceted offerings — from the changing exhibits, public programs and tours to its extensive archives and collections, research opportunities, and the period buildings and historic gardens that comprise the two-acre campus. The fully-integrated interface will make it easy for visitors to access event and calendar information, admission and ticketing details, hours of operation, directions and other practical issues.
League of Women Voters hosts ice cream social
The fourth annual ice cream social sponsored by the League of Women Voters Pasadena Area, which includes a tour of the league’s new office, is from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday on the patio of the Western Justice Center, 55 S. Grand Ave., Pasadena.
Featuring music by Dads’ Band Plus One, as well as giant sundaes made with Fosselman’s Ice Cream and sorbet in waffle cones, guests will be able to catch up with friends, learn about the league’s plans for the year and register to vote.
Tickets are $10 for the first adult family member, $5 for each additional member over 13, $5 for students, including college students and those on a low-income or ﬁxed budget and free for children under 13.
