Lisa Finnie is a familiar voice at Café 322, playing a cool mix of Americana, jazz and folk — most of them her own original works. With songs on the Chirp label that include “Ball and Chain,” “Love is as Love Does,” “So Much Better” and “What’s the Matter with Me?” Finnie counts among her influences The Beatles, Patsy Cline, Willie Dixon, Bob Dylan, Bobby Bradford, the Bee Gees and Nina Simone, among others.
Sierra Madre’s Ocho-X has been a popular draw since the inception of the band, which has gone through a few personnel changes since it formed in 1994, at one point featuring a former member of Frank Zappa’s Mothers of Invention. They describe their rock/funk/garage rock sound as along the lines of Santana crossed with Pink Floyd, with a little Cream and, of course, Zappa mixed in.

Music starts at 8 p.m. Friday at Café 322, 322 W. Sierra Madre Blvd., Sierra Madre. Call (626) 836-5414.
