As the rector of one of America’s most progressive Christian churches, All Saints Church in Pasadena, the Rev. Ed Bacon has long been a vocal opponent of war.
But now, Bacon is speaking out for love as the author of “8 Habits of Love: Open Your Heart, Open Your Mind,” which he will launch Sunday with a special party from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church.
While Bacon was not been available for comment due to engaging in a silent retreat, the book company noted that the book “reveals how we can create full and meaningful lives by developing simple yet profound habits of generosity, stillness, truth, candor, play, forgiveness, compassion and community.”
Bacon uses stories and advice to help readers overcome emotions such as fear, anger, insecurity and sadness, and replace them with love and creativity that covers all aspects of life, not just relationships.
There could be some interesting celebrity sightings at the event. Bacon has invited numerous luminary friends, ranging from Oprah Winfrey to Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
All Saints Church is at 132 N. Euclid Ave. in Pasadena. For more information, visit allsaints-pas.org.
