John Bilezikjian displays his love of the ancient instrument at Coffee Gallery Backstage

World-recognized oud master John Bilezikjian performs on the ancient, 11-stringed Persian instrument, with vocals by his wife Helen Bilezikjian, during a Sunday matinee at Coffee Gallery Backstage in Altadena.
Bilezikjian comes to town with an impressive resumé. He’s performed around the world for more than 50 years, most notably appearing before the King and Queen of Spain, and Mrs. Anwar Sadat of Egypt. Closer to home, he’s appeared with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, the Los Angeles Mandolin Orchestra and the Pacific Palisades Symphony.
He’s also performed with the Boston POPS Orchestra and Pasadena POPS. His music has also been performed on numerous documentaries and in the Warner Bros. movie, “Must Love Dogs.”
Bilezikjian also runs his own record company, Dantz Records in Laguna Hills, and has released more than 25 CDs.
