Great music,Great food
Perhaps the only way to improve a free evening concert at the Levitt Pavilion would be to enjoy a great meal at the same time.

On Thursday (American music) and Friday (world rhythms) evenings through July, concertgoers can also discover new taste delights from Siena, a relative newcomer to the Old Pasadena fine dining scene offering pizza, sandwiches, antipasto and other dishes under the stars at the band shell in Memorial Park, located near the corner of Raymond Avenue and Holly Street.

For the full restaurant experience of flavorful California-Italian cuisine made from scratch, visit the restaurant from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays at 43 E. Union St. in Pasadena. Diners can enjoy fresh-baked bread, hand-rolled pasta, freshly kneaded pizza dough, $5 valet parking (shared with Crate & Barrel) and a free gelato if they mention the Levitt Pavilion, said manager Anthony Mazone.

Siena offers a strong wine list with monthly lunchtime (before 5 p.m.) specials that include $5 glasses of Chianti and $6 glasses (or $22 bottles) of their wine of the month, which for July is Diamond-cut Coppola, a chardonnay made in Northern California.

For more information about Siena, call (626) 584-6050 or visit www.sienapasadena.com. For concert information, see our Nightlife section, call (626) 683-3230 or visit levittpavilionpasadena.org.

Grocer’s grand opening
Highland Park has a new grocer with the grand opening of Figueroa Produce Market at 6321 N. Figueroa St.

The new market, owned by Luis Quismorio, Johnny Sharou, Ruben Perez and Omar Abich, hopes to set a new standard for buying discount produce, meats, and international groceries while including a full service deli.

Boasting a family friendly, tropical environment where service is a priority and owners are available for conversation, the market is also giving back to the community by providing fresh fruit donations to local schools and churches.

Figueroa Produce Market held its official grand opening celebration on July 13.
