Virtual Olympics

Now is the last chance for air hockey, Foosball, Wii bowling, pool and Ms. Pacman enthusiasts to sign-up for the Barney’s Beanery Games that run concurrent with the 2008 Beijing Olympics on Saturday and Sunday, but are not sanctioned by the United States Olympic Committee.

Pasadena’s Barney participants — co-ed, two-person teams ($40 per team entry fee to cover T-shirts) — will compete against two other Barney locations. The winning team will get $100 and the overall “Gold Medalist” will be chauffeured to a VIP seat for a baseball game at Dodger Stadium.
While the contest is a serious business for some gamers, expect lots of grinning faces from shots of 70-proof Jagermeister dropped into glasses of Red Bull Barney’s Beanery is located at 99 E. Colorado Blvd., Old Pasadena. Call (626) 405-9777.
