Names change, great food stays
It’s been a hectic month at Bar Celona. The popular Spanish eatery underwent a quick but thorough makeover during the month of August while changing its name to East 46 exclusively to host Olympic viewing parties. With the Games over, its doors swing open today under its original name, Bar Celona. If you want to know more, or just check out great food, head to 46 E. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena. Call (626) 405-2100.

Hefty hot dog
One of the great pleasures of this column comes from sharing great new places to eat with our readers. This week, we’re turning you on to Tutti Frutti, a great breakfast place with smoothies, waffles and fruit bowls that also serves unbelievably tasty and inventive Colombian-style hot dogs.

Loaded with a mix of ham, mozzarella cheese, pineapple, onions and potato chips (plus mustard, ketchup and mayo) for just $4.75, it’s easily the best dog in town. Enjoy it all at 950 E. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena. Call (626) 793-3662.

Luscious lesson
Pasadena has finally been blessed with a local outpost of one of downtown’s favorite dining spots, as Roy’s Restaurant recently opened along Colorado Boulevard. Baldwin Ave., Arcadia. Call (626) 821-4623 or visit www.arboretum.org.

Special seafood
Finally, enjoy Japanese seafood favorites with a healthy edge at Inaka Gourmet Seafood in Arcadia. Owner/chef Niki specializes in whole-grain pasta salads, traditional Japanese salads, fresh sushi and sashimi selections, and fish of the day to go with Bento style lunches, all offered in both eat-in and take-out formats. Drop by 838 S. Baldwin Ave., Arcadia. Call (626) 254-9926 or visit www.inakagourmet.com.
