New Orleans Visits Pasadena
Vaud and the Villains light up the Levitt Pavilion stage Saturday
By John Sollenberger 07/03/2014
Saturday night offers a glimpse at one of the many diverse acts performing at the Levitt Pavilion Summer Music Festival with Vaud and the Villains swinging by the Memorial Park bandshell.
The LA-based act, created by actor Andy Comeau and his wife Dawn Lewis, constitutes a musical extravaganza featuring 19 members, emulating the sounds of the 1930s in a New Orleans-style cabaret show.
A typical performance is likely to be part concert, part revival show, with shades of Americana noir and a touch of Moulin Rouge added in.
Vaud and the Villains has toured the United States from coast to coast. Locally, the group has graced the stages of the Ford Amphitheater, Fais Do-Do and Harvelle’s, among other venues.

Music starts at 8 p.m. Saturday at Levitt Pavilion Pasadena, in Memorial Park, Raymond Avenue and Holly Street, Pasadena. Admission is free. Call (626) 683-3230 or visit levittpavilionpasadena.org.
