A Marine reservist found unconscious near a popular nightclub in Old Pasadena Monday died the following morning, police said.
Meanwhile, the Pasadena Weekly has learned that the location near where the man was found has been visited by police hundreds of times since 2010.
Police found Joshua Mario Martinez, 25, of Los Angeles, on the roadway at 12:50 a.m. Monday near Ix Tapa Cantina, located in the 100 block of the north side of East Colorado Boulevard, on the corner of Arroyo Parkway.

Prior to being found unconscious, Martinez, who was stationed at Camp Pendleton in San Diego, was part of one of two groups that had been asked to leave Ix Tapa. Martinez was found outside Barney’s Beanery, another popular club a half-block west of Ixtapa on Colorado Boulevard.

Pasadena police arrested Jonas Ramos, 24, of San Gabriel, and Angel Moroyoqui, 21, of El Monte on suspicion of attempted murder shortly after they were admitted to an El Monte hospital later Monday morning suffering stab wounds. After Martinez died at 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, the men were rebooked on suspicion of murder. They are being held on $1 million bail. Arrested on suspicion of being an accomplice after the fact was Vania Aguirre, 24, of El Monte. Aguirre was released on bail Tuesday, officials said.

According to information obtained through a Public Records Act request filed by the Pasadena Weekly, police visited Ix Tapa 690 times since 2010. Of those interactions, 307 were initiated by police. So far this year, officers have visited the location 228 times. Last year, police were there 278 times.
