Party at the Pub
By John Sollenberger 08/28/2008
Locals know that Pasadena’s Old Towne Pub is a great place to throw a party. You may have to look a little bit to find the place, hidden as it is behind the Container Store off North Fair Oaks Avenue, but the closed-in atmosphere sort of adds to the clubby charm of the venerable 35-year-old institution.
Saturday, you can help bid the summer bye-bye as Andrew’s Beach Party Feat takes over. The party is hosted by the fun local band, Andrew’s Bad Stuff, a musical fixture hereabouts. Area faves Steel, Fatso Jetson and Mrs. Brown’s Lovely Daughter round out the bill.
Andrew’s Bad Stuff has built a devoted following at area clubs. The outfit has an off-beat playlist, including B-side tunes from the 1960s through the ’90s — all done with a sense of humor in a fun, freewheeling show. This promises to be a hot August hoot.
Saturday’s party starts at 7 p.m., music starts at 9 at the Old Towne Pub, 66 N. Fair Oaks Ave., Pasadena. Enter through the alley off Holly Street between Fair Oaks and Raymond avenues. Call (626) 577-6583.
