Snotty Scotty and the Hankies rock the Peppertree Grill
By John Sollenberger 05/29/2014
Friday night offers a night of rocking fun when Snotty Scotty and the Hankies light up the Peppertree Grill in Sierra Madre.
This free-wheeling band has been livening up parties and major events around the area for more than 40 years. Known as Pasadena’s top party band for decades, the group plays hits from the past that fans know and love, including a lot of more obscure songs that don’t always get played on the oldies stations.
The sound hearkens back to the surf/psychedelic sound of the 1960s and early ’70s, including songs that other groups never tackle. The show is always carried off with the band’s signature sense of humor, with a “let’s party” atmosphere that keeps the crowds coming.
The band also has served as a seminal part of Pasadena’s version of controlled insanity known as the Doo Dah Parade, leading the event every year.
