Echoplex hosts Roots Roadhouse party Saturday

For those looking for a big helping of rootsy rock, Echoplex in Echo Park is the place to be Saturday, when Roots Roadhouse opens with 17 Americana-dealing bands playing on two stages.
 
Besides music, the day includes beverages from a variety of craft brewers, food trucks, bingo, raffles and a whole lot of fun, emceed by Scion Radio deejay and Variety magazine writer Chris Morris, with deejay Cuz’n Roy spinning tunes between acts.
 
Bands scheduled to play include Blasters founder Dave Alvin (pictured) & The Guilty Men, The Chapin Sisters, I See Hawks in LA, Old Californio, Triple Chicken Foot, T Model Ford, Whispering Pines, Speedbuggy, Leslie & the Badgers, Killing Cassanova, Chatham County Line, Red Simpson, Amanda Jo Williams, Frontier Ruckus, Philip Roebuck, Pete Anderson and Olin & the Moon. 
 
A tattoo artist will also be on hand, Madame Pamita will tell fortunes and various clothing vendors will be showing their wares.
