The roots of the group, based in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, are in the south. They play songs steeped in tradition and created in the spirit of the iconic Carter family. The pair is on a mission to perform the music they love, which includes an energetic blend of bluegrass, folk, acoustic and old-time country.

The engaging pair, with Linda on guitar, vocals and banjo and Robin on vocals and guitar, and Their Fine Group, with Chris Brashear on fiddle and mandolin and Jim Watson on bass, is known for distinctive vocals and breathtaking harmonies.

They’ve appeared numerous times on Garrison Keillor’s “Prairie Home Companion” show. Their latest disc is “Back 40.”
