American military service members (0 more than last week) have been reported killed in Afghanistan since the war began in 2001, according to The Associated Press. 

 

14 

members of the Lebanese Army were killed, 86 were wounded and 22 were still missing after 3 days of fighting between the army and members of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS). According to The Associated Press, the fighting began after ISIS seized the border town of Arsal.

people were killed and 94 wounded in Iraq in bombings and clashes on Saturday. According to Reuters, a suicide bomber blew up an explosives-laden car near a crowd of security forces and allied volunteers at a recruitment center outside of Baghdad, killing 4 and injuring 32.  

 

200,000 

civilians in Iraq have fled the minority Yazidi community just outside of Baghdad, according a United Nations report. The news comes amidst reports that ISIS has taken control of Iraq’s largest hydroelectric dam. The dam, located on the Tigris River, provides power to the city of Mosul.
