As of Tuesday, day 2,063 of the war in Iraq…

28 people were killed Monday during a synchronized triple-bombing in Northern Baghdad — the deadliest attack there since June, reported The New York Times.

13 was the age of Iraq’s most recent suicide bomber, who on Monday killed 4 people at a security checkpoint some 30 miles northeast of Baghdad, reported The Times of London.

$150 million is in Iraq’s official budget for its secret police, but the organization appears to be receiving much more covert funding, especially for its efforts to spy on Iran, reported London’s The Independent.

$570.3 billion has been spent so far on the war, according to the National Priorities Project’s costofwar.com.

$83.1 billion is the cost of the war to California taxpayers — the cost of 1 year’s tuition for 12.5 million university students, or health care for 31 million children for 1 year.
