American military service members — 1 more than last week — have died since the war began in 2003, according to the US Department of Defense. A total of 13,877 have suffered injuries serious enough to keep them from returning to duty.

civilians were killed in violence in Iraq in November, which Iraqi officials say is the lowest monthly civilian death toll since the war began, Reuters reported. About 343 Iraqis were killed in October.
