If you love the 1980s, then you owe it to yourself to visit T. Boyle’s Tavern Friday night. That’s when Past Action Heroes save the day from starting the weekend on a boring note.

If you’ve never seen these guys, you should. They each dress up as, well, TV action heroes of the ‘80s. Characters include the band’s representations of small-screen heroes, such as “MacGyver,” Sonny Crockett of “Miami Vice,” “Magnum P.I.” and Michael Knight of “Knight Rider.” This is a start-to-finish musical hoot.
However, the wardrobe antics don’t get in the way of the fact that this is one tight, talented band. PAH reproduces spot-on recreations of the best of ‘80s rock and New Wave. This is no joke, as they fight the crime of boredom one hit song at a time. Check them out at

Music starts at 9:30 p.m. at T. Boyle’s Tavern, 37 N. Catalina Ave., Pasadena. No cover. Call (626) 578-0957 or visit
