Formed in 1999 by trumpeter Cindy Shea, Mariachi Divas is an all-woman group of top-notch artists playing in a field dominated by men. If you want a measure of their success, look no further than Saturday’s performance at Levitt Pavilion or last year’s Grammy Awards, when the band won for Best Regional Mexican Album with their 2008 release, “Canciones De Amor.”

Adding some luster to the group’s star power, Mariachi Divas has appeared at such world-class venues as Arrowhead Pond, Universal Amphitheater, Staples Center and the Greek Theatre, among others. In addition, the group has performed at numerous festivals and events around the country, all while producing a half-dozen albums. The latest, “Viva La Diva,” is available at mariachidivas.com.

Mariachi Divas perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at Levitt Pavilion, in Memorial Park, corner or Walnut Street and North Raymond Avenue, Pasadena. Call (626) 683-3230 or visit levittpavilionpasadena.org. Admission is free.
