The appearance of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents last Thursday startled Northwest Pasadena residents, causing many to flee the area or hide in their homes, according to one local activist.

ICE officers arrested one or more individuals near the corner of Orange Boulevard and Los Robles Avenue, according to a statement by Raul Borbon, a community organizer with the Pasadena-based Institute for Popular Education.

An ICE spokeswoman offered no specifics by press time, but believes the action targeted a specific individual who was evading a court order to leave the country.
