Germany has contributed its share of rock masters over the years. One such act is heavy metal legends Accept, playing Saturday night at The Rose.
These fiery rockers hit fame in the 1980s with hits including 1981’s “Breaker,” the 1983 breakthrough “Balls to the Wall” and the 1985 “Metal Heart.” With those earlier releases, the group played an integral role in the rise of thrash metal. Eventually, Accept took a 15-year hiatus, returning with a vengeance in 2010 better than ever with the release of “Blood of the Nations,” which charted worldwide and took Record of the Year honors in various countries.
Accept’s two follow-up albums continued their successful return, with “Stalingrad” and “Blind Rage,” the latter of which hit the top chart position in Finland, with top 10 showings in countries around Europe.
The band has performed sold-out shows in concerts and festivals around Europe, and over the years has released a huge list of albums. Saturday’s high-octane show comes in the midst of a world tour.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and Accept starts at 9 p.m. Saturday at The Rose, 245 E. Green St., Pasadena. Tickets are $35 to $75. Call (888) 645-5006 or visit roseconcerts.com.
