Fans who loved Martha Davis & the Motels in the late 1970s and ’80s are in for a treat Friday night when the group stops in The Rose for a one-night stand.
Although there have been some personnel changes over the years. Davis’ sultry voice still helms the ship. And on the band website, Davis hails this incarnation of the group as “the best Motels ever.”
The band is wrapping up a busy year of touring and playing their signature hits, including the sentimental tale of loneliness and yeaning, “Only the Lonely,” “Suddenly Last Summer,” “Remember the Nights” and others.
Fans can expect a few surprises, as well, as the group is still producing new recordings. Their latest CD is “If Not Now, Then When,” released earlier this year.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and Martha Davis & The Motels perform at 9 p.m. Friday at The Rose, 245 E. Green St., Pasadena. Tickets are $20 to $34. Call (888) 645-5006 or visit roseconcerts.com.
