Catch a blues all-star in the act Friday night when the Robert Cray Band stops by The Rose.
Over the past 40-plus years, the lauded singer-songwriter and guitarist has established himself in the stellar reaches of the blues universe, paying tribute to the venerable genre in ways that rise from the roots to deliver a sound that today is both familiar and still fresh.
In his career, Cray and crew have produced some 20 studio releases, 15 of which have hit the Billboard charts. He’s played it all, from bars and major concerts to festivals and arenas around the globe.
Cray has received five Grammy Awards over the years, and has earned numerous W.C. Handy Awards (known as the Blues Grammy). The bluesman was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame four years ago. Visit robertcray.com.
