Legendary guitarists Fred Tackett and Paul Barrere, who will be performing at The Rose Friday night, have a long history of working together.

Barrere was a founding member and guitarist of Little Feat, and was there to record the band’s iconic first album, “Dixie Chicken” in 1972.

Band leader Lowell George was a close friend of multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Tackett and wanted to record Tackett’s song, “Fool Yourself,” starting a long association with the songwriter. Time passed, the group disbanded, then reformed in 1987, with Tackett onboard as the second guitarist.

Since then, the duo has written numerous songs together, and they’ve toured as an acoustic duo since 1999. They’ve released two live albums, “Live from the North Café” and “Live in the UK 2008.”

They’ve also performed with acts including Bob Dylan, Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal, Jack Bruce, Phil Lesh and many others.

Expect a night of Little Feat hits and a few surprises.
