Saturday night offers an intoxicating taste of tunes with Whiskey Sunday stopping in for a set at Coffee Gallery Backstage.

The LA-based band offers a sound that’s influenced by the Midwestern hinterlands and Irish folk, with a shot of Americana, a dram of prairie breeze and cabin hymns blended with bittersweet tales, all swimming in top-notch harmonies.

Whiskey Sunday boasts influences from groups like The Waterboys, Flogging Molly, Damien Dempsey and others. The group is composed of Patrick Rieger on guitar, vocals and bodhran, Olivia Sandoval on upright bass, Adam Hall on banjo and dobro, Liam Lewis on mandolin and violin and Vito Gutilla on violin.

This is a show that’s designed to bring out the Irish in listeners, wherever they hail from. Visit facebook.com/whiskeysundayband.

Music starts at 7 p.m. Saturday at Coffee Gallery Backstage, 2029 N. Lake Ave., Altadena. Tickets are $18. Call (626) 798-6236 or visit coffeegallery.com.
