The Award-winning guitar group New West celebrates Western music and other folk sounds during a Sunday matinee at Coffee Gallery Backstage.

Michael Fleming, one of the group’s three singing cowboys, was raised in the Colorado Rockies, where he came to love all things Western, including its music. Fleming writes most of the band’s original material, and, among his many trophies, once won the Academy of Western Artists Will Rogers Award for Best Western Swing Song.

Fellow crooner Raul Reynoso displays incredible vocal and instrumental talent, making him one of California’s most sought after performers. Reynoso has performed at the Grand Old Opry and won various guitar playing competitions, as well as having received three nominations from the Western Music Association for Best Instrumentalist.

David Jackson is an in-demand session player and has won the California Country Music Association Award for Best Instrumentalist. Jackson has performed with such luminaries as Kenny Rogers, Hoyt Axton, Cher, Jackson Browne and Dwight Yoakam.

Music starts at 2 p.m. Sunday at Coffee Gallery Backstage, 2029 N. Lake Ave., Altadena. Tickets are $20. Call (626) 798-6236 or visit
