Those in the mood for some authentic Scottish tunes might consider heading over to the Pasadena Folk Music Society concert Friday night at Caltech to catch a show by Old Blind Dogs.

From Aberdeenshire, Scotland, the band delivers when it comes to traditional Scottish sounds. They’ve been one of the society’s most popular acts over the years. The group has earned a place as one of Scotland’s most popular groups, and won the Folk Band of the Year at the 2007 Scots Trad (Traditional) Music Awards.

Old Blind Dogs consists of Jonny Hardie (fiddle and vocals), Aaron Jones (bouzouki, guitar, bass and vocals), Ali Hutton (whistles, pipes and guitar) and Donald Hay (percussion). Fans can expect to hear music from their latest recording, “Room with a View,” and take in the soaring fiddle work, stirring pipes and stellar vocals that have endeared the band to fans and critics alike for years. Their energy and intoxicating rhythm always mean a great show.
