A blues guitar star at age 16 some 20 years ago, Kenny Wayne Shepherd is still going strong, performing with his band Saturday night at The Rose in Pasadena.
Shepherd’s name has virtually become synonymous with the phrase “young blues rock guitarist,” with the musician building an impressive career since the 1990s.
A young star in on old style, he has set the contemporary blues world on fire, selling millions of records worldwide and garnering five Grammy nominations, two Billboard Music Awards, two Orville H. Gibson awards, two Blues Music awards and various other prizes and accolades.
Over the past two decades, he’s produced six No. 1-selling blues albums and a slate of top-selling rock singles. Shepherd’s latest album is “Lay It On Down.”
