The Wine and Song singer-songwriter series offers a rare Friday night performance this week in a departure from its usual Wednesday night showcase at the Arroyo Seco Golf Course.
The duo of Canadian-born Cilette Swan and UK native Roman Morykit serve up a varied palette of sound, with acoustic rock, pop, blues and jazz.
The pair brings influences from around the globe, including Italian, Irish, South African and Ukranian roots. Multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer Morykit and singer-lyricist Swan weave intricate, innovative arrangements, passion-filled vocals, stellar harmonies and soaring guitar work into a package that has endeared them to fans and critics alike.
Over 20-odd years, they’ve produced 13 independent CDs, including a Top 40 single, “Silent Tears” and have won numerous songwriting and performance awards. Gypsy Soul has performed with acts including The Doobie Brothers and Edie Brickell & the New Bohemians, has been featured on compilation albums with Shawn Colvin, Keb Mo and Aimee Mann, and their music has been featured on television shows and films including “Providence,” “Felicity,” “After Sex” and “Quick Sand,” among others.
