Saturday night, catch an act that blends the best elements of multiple genres as the Claude von Trotha Band delivers the goods at Arcadia Blues Club.

Since 2001, Claude von Trotha and his band have melded influences including blues, jazz, funk, rock and soul, in a rocking repertoire, the music driven by the leader’s soulful voice, blistering guitar work and arranging skills.

The group, which plays Friday at the Arcadia Blues Club, consists of a crew of top-shelf musicians featuring a talented horn section. The muscular musicianship is on full display, with a rhythm section  laying down a tight groove that packs a punch.

Von Trotha’s arrangements of both original and classic tunes define the group’s signature sound, as his warm, often comedic stage presence makes this group a true crowd pleaser.

The Claude von Trotha Band has shared stages with a number of classic acts, including War, the Yardbirds, Sweet, Tower of Power, Coco Montoya and Canned Heat.

Bobby Bluehouse and the ABC All-Stars also perform.

Music starts at 8 p.m. Friday at Arcadia Blues Club, 16 E. Huntington Drive, Arcadia. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door. Call (626) 447-9349 or visit
