World music guitarist Ottmar Liebert & Luna Negra serve up a plate of international sounds at The Rose Friday night.
The virtuoso native of Cologne, Germany is hailed as a guitar star worldwide, with his success attributed to a strong sense of melody and an overpowering creative vision. The four-time Grammy nominee has released a huge catalog of recordings across the globe, with all of his recordings attaining either gold or platinum status.
Liebert began playing at age 11, and at a young age he traveled and performed throughout Asia, where he solidified his ambitions to devote his life to music. After settling in Santa Fe, New Mexico, he defined his style, capturing elements of Spanish, Mexican and world music.
