Headlining artists Teresa Tudury and James Lee Stanley share the stage in a show Sunday at Coffee Gallery Backstage.
Tudury’s deep, sultry voice has been known to electrify audiences wherever she plays. She’s a consummate performer, whose shows are laced with wit. Her voice has received critical acclaim as a cross between Bonnie Raitt and Bette Midler. Add in her bluesy guitar playing, and you can see why she’s been tapped to perform with stars including Ricky Lee Jones, Lyle Lovett, Bonnie Bramlett and the late Leonard Cohen, among many others. Stanley has likewise been widely hailed as an all-star entertainer. The singing guitarist’s voice has been likened to that of James Taylor, and as an opening act at various major concerts, he’s been known to steal the show.
Along with his playing, singing and songwriting talents, his comedic delivery helps sell the show. Like Tudury, Stanley has performed with major artists, including Stephen Stills, Steven Wright and Bonnie Raitt.
Music starts at 7 p.m. Sunday at Coffee Gallery Backstage, 2029 N. Lake Ave., Altadena. Tickets are $20. Call (626) 798-6236 or visit coffeegallery.com.
