Guitarist Shaw Davis and his band the Black Ties lay down some hefty doses of psychedelic blues and roots rock at Arcadia Blues Club Friday and Saturday.

The 23-year-old Davis has become well known for his raw, emotional style. The band has won enthusiastic fans around the nation just two years since its inception in Florida. The trio has played more than 300 shows, headlined festivals around the country, and opened for all-star acts, including G.E. Smith, Popa Chubby, Chris Duarte, Mike Zito, Samantha Fish and a host of others.

Davis and his mates, who have been featured in South Florida Music Magazine, in 2017 participated in the South Florida Blues Challenge, and represented the area in the 2018 Blues Challenge in Memphis.

They’ve released two albums so far.


Music starts at 7  p.m. Friday and Saturday at Arcadia Blues Club, 16 E. Huntington Drive, Arcadia. Ricky Z opens Friday night and Diana Rein opens Saturday night. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door each night.
