Singer-songwriter and guitarist James Intveld, who will be performing Saturday at Arcadia Blues Club, developed a love for music at an early age, growing up listening to his parents’ favorite tunes, including those by Hank Williams, Sr., Dean Martin and Elvis, among others.
As his musical abilities grew, Intveld jumped into the burgeoning cow punk movement of the 1980s, playing some of the same clubs as future stars Dwight Yoakam and Rosie Flores.
His rockabilly leanings took center stage, launching him into the spotlight as one of the country’s most in-demand Americana artists. He also boasts credits as an actor and director. His music has been featured in films including “A Thing Called Love,” starring River Phoenix.
Inveld has produced a string of albums and puts on a rocking show.
