Historical storm

An amateur photographer, Altadena middle school teacher Brandon Hammerli captured the rare snowfall on Feb. 25. “I was driving around with my 4-year-old son to show him the snow,” the La Crecenta native recalled. “I bring my camera everywhere with me. The snow started and we were lucky to be one of the first people there.” He and his son, Sage, stayed for about 90 minutes, during which time, he said, it snowed nonstop. “It was a special moment. It was really cool.”
